April 2024 Update!

As the weather warms and the days lengthen, our plots are bustling with activity and promise for the growing season ahead.

New Allotment Spaces: We're thrilled to announce the creation of 30 brand new allotment spaces! These plots are now ready to be nurtured and cultivated by eager green thumbs. If you or someone you know is interested in securing one of these plots, don't delay in contacting us. Let's continue to grow our community and share in the joys of gardening together.

Crane Brook Update: The issues with Crane Brook persist, but our collective efforts can make a difference. We urge all plotholders to remain vigilant and report any instances of pollution promptly. Your reports not only help us address the problem but also enable us to work closely with Severn Trent Water to find lasting solutions. Remember, the more complaints we receive, the louder our voice becomes. Together, we can protect our precious environment.

Plot Maintenance Reminders: As stewards of our allotment space, it's essential that we uphold certain responsibilities. Please remember that keeping your plot tidy is a condition of your license. This includes maintaining the grass strip immediately outside your plot. Let's strive to create a welcoming and well-kept environment for all.

Respectful Parking: A friendly reminder to all drivers within our community: please park respectfully. When arriving at the allotment, reverse into your parking spot and ensure you leave ample room for fellow plotholders and other users of the surrounding land. Avoid parking on the concrete roadway or access track, as this can cause inconvenience and congestion for others. Let's demonstrate kindness and consideration in all our interactions.

Protecting the Hedgerow: We've recently planted a new hedgerow around the site to enhance its beauty and security. We kindly ask all plotholders to ensure they are not damaging the hedgerow saplings. These saplings hold the potential to grow into a mature hedge, enclosing and securing the site for generations to come. Let's nurture these plants with care and watch them flourish.

Rainwater Harvesting: As stewards of the land, it's imperative that we explore sustainable practices to lessen our impact on local water resources. One such practice gaining traction is rainwater harvesting. By collecting and storing rainwater from our roofs, we can significantly reduce our dependence on external water sources like Crane Brook. Implementing rainwater harvesting systems not only conserves water but also provides a free and natural resource for watering our plots during dry spells. As we strive to cultivate our allotments in harmony with the environment, let's consider incorporating rainwater harvesting into our gardening practices. Together, we can make a tangible difference in conserving water and nurturing our beloved allotment community.

Updating Contact Details: To enhance security, we're planning to change the access code to the track soon. It's crucial that all plotholders ensure their contact details are up to date. This way, everyone will receive the new code promptly, ensuring smooth access for all. Please take a moment to verify and update your contact information with us.

Thank you for your continued dedication to our allotment community. Together, we're nurturing not only plants but also a sense of belonging and shared responsibility.
